About the Prize
Since 1988, ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ has celebrated outstanding popular science writing and authors. Over the decades, the Prize has celebrated some notable winners including Bill Bryson, Stephen Hawking, Camilla Pang, Kelly and Zach Weinersmith, and Masud Husain in 2025 with Our Brains, Our Selves.
Joining palaeontologist Professor Mike Benton FRS on the 2026 judging panel is comedian and actor Eshaan Akbar; Waterstones' non-fiction range manager Adeela Badshah; radio presenter Marnie Chesterton; writer and historian Subhadra Das; and multi-award-winning fiction author Irenosen Okojie. The call for entries for the 2026 Royal Society Trivedi Science Book Prize was open from 5 January 2026 to 2 March 2026. For the first time, this year's shortlist will be revealed by the judges to a live audience on the opening night of the Summer Science Exhibition.
